Izumi Japanese Steak House & Lounge in Meridian

The food was delicious but the service not too great. Had reservations at 7:30 didn't get seated until over an hour later..they kept saying soon..We were there celebrating a Birthday.. it was very obvious they are under staff for the amount of customers they serve.Didn't get our food until 9:30, I requested to talk to the managerfor the poor service. The only thing she able to offer was an apology and no charge for our appetizers. That was great, but that didn't go well for people in our party who DIDN'T order appetizers. She offered ice cream to them, which was not appealing to them. Overall, I would not be returning for this reason.

This visit was a bit different for us: we ordered sushi to go. It is just as good to go as it is in the restaurant. The octopus was so soft and fabulous. The eel roll was the best I've ever had.

First of all; kudos to our server, Logan who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His service was truly incredible. Even with payment problems (we had an extra meal from the guy next to us, who left before we noticed our total was a little to high) Logan took care of the problem and made sure we were satisfied. This was the best service I have ever had from any restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful night! Of course, as always, our food was amazing. Izumis is truly incredible. Great place to go to!!

This place oh my goodness. It's so awesome. The Service is amazing(kind people), food is DELICIOUS!!! The chiefs are always fun to watch while making Hibachi. They cook so well. My first time going here was a couple days ago and I was SUPER impressed. Definitely the best Hibachi place in Boise for sure.

I am so glad we were told about this restaurant. Their were five of us and we all enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. From the moment we walked in we said this is going to be great. The Server (Alex) was great, providing excellent service through out the meal. you meal is prepared in front of you on a hibachi grill. the Grill master was outstanding preparing the food while also providing live entertainment. His skills were great. The menu is large and offers main choices of food items and Sushi. Yes we will be back.

This place is awesome. Went to hibachi area for work group. Food was great and the presentation was good. I will return to this establishment.

Food was amazing, was our first time there. Our chef was very friendly and entertaining, only issue is my bill was 99.10, I left a 10.00 tip but my CC was charged 117.10 so watch out, looks like they changed my 10.00 tip to 18.00.

Two words... SAKE BOMB!! Izumi is my first choice for sushi & habachi. The habachi is like no other in the valley. They've brought new activities and fresh jokes to your dining experience. The sushi is beautiful, fresh and delicious. If you're looking for a fun date night or a birthday, Izumi is the place to do it.

It was AMAZING food and service. The atmosphere was great, clean and very friendly service. It was 100%better than Tepanyaki. I would highly recommend it.

Izumi is the best hibatchi place in town and where I always want to go when the hibatchi mood strikes me. Great food, fun atmosphere and reasonable prices. A must try if you are in the mood for a hibatchi meal

Excellent service and delicious food! I have several food allergies and our son is autistic. They were very good about seeing to our needs. Their English isn't great, so it's a little hard to explain certain things, but all in all they did a wonderful job!

Hands down the best restaurant I’ve been to in Idaho! Such a fun atmosphere! We had a 3 year old and a 9 year old and they even had a great time. Come back next week for my birthday

I've been to them all... Izumi is my favorite.... From the atmosphere, to the world class fish and staff. The place is awesome.

Service was great. Food was very good. We ordered several different appetizers and sat at the hibachi table. 11 of us in total and we all had a wonderful time. The hibachi chef was hysterical and made us all laugh and did a great job keeping us entertained. Food was spot on. Out of all the ones in the area..this one is by far the best.

One of my personal favorite restaurants. I've hosted a couple social gatherings here. The service is great, the chefs are very entertaining, and it's always been a great experience. The hibachi and sushi is outstanding. Doesn't get more fresh, especially the steak.

I liked this restaurant until today. We went in for V Day and they cut their menu excluding Happy Hour and Lunch simply because it was V Day and they were seeking more profit. It's a shady business practice and I will not be back. They've lost a frequent customer due to their greed and shady business practices.

We came here for sushi today and I'm gonna rate on that experience. Clean, nice atmosphere, some good offers on the happy hour menu, from drinks to sushi rolls. Every single piece a fish we have was delicious and their Toro (fatty tuna) it's incredible good. We will be back for sure, by far our best experience on sushi since we arrived to Idaho.

Had a really great experience for my first time at Izumi. My group sat at a hibachi grill, but there are also regular tables if you're just there for sushi. The service was great even though the place was packed. Drinks were exceptional and very reasonably priced. The food was great and our hibachi chef was very entertaining. I had the swordfish and I highly recommend it.

First food was just sat outside with other orders where anyone would have to fumble through my bag before seeing the name. Never received any confirmation or time frame to pick it up. Second I chose this place from the web sight looks like great food. But this was like fast food. I payed 12.99 each for two sea bass meals. The sea bass was smaller than a dollar ripped in half,fried,dry and tasteless. Served on a bed of sticky noodles that had alot of uncooked noodles. Veggie rolls were fried in old oil so just had a horrible taste best part of the meal was my miso. Overall bad experience.

We drive by this place a lot, and we always have talked about going. We finally went. And we were definitely not disappointed. It's a beautiful building. All of our meals were absolutely gorgeous, and delicious. Definitely going to be back!

Went for lunch hibatchi. The soup and salad it came with were delicious. We had great service and our hibatchi chef was amazing. Food was delicious and I recommend it.

Made a reservation for 8:00 but we didn’t get seated till 8:50. They kept on saying we would be seated next but they seated people in front of us. Chef was funny and did a great job but we didn’t receive salad, soup, or a refill till we where already eating our meal. They apologized and said they would give us ice cream but they forgot.

We had a great experience with our family here. The food was cooked incredibly well and it was so entertaining to watch the chef. He was playful and really interacted with everyone at our table from the toddlers to the adults. The wait staff catered to our little ones so well. We'll definitely come back again. Nicely done.

Best sushi in Idaho hands down. The spicy girl roll and firecracker roll are a MUST. Food was amazing. Start out with a yellowtail jalapeño appetizer and you won't be disappointed. 50% off drinks for happy hour!! Everything was good. I highly recommended this place.

It was outstanding on both the food and service

Killing time between appointments and looking for sushi fix we found ourself near Izumi around 3:00 pm on a Tuesday. We wandered in to find that they had an extensive happy hour menu of low priced $4.50 rolls, appetizers and drinks. This restaurant is large modern and would seem to do a lively business during normal dining hours but was empty when we visited. Good service with a little upselling. Had our fill of items from the happy hour menu, white tuna was great and also the sweetheart roll. Gorged ourselves for a reasonable price. No so if ordering regular price menu. Very good quality though. Can't comment on the hibachi grill or bar aspects but assume equally good. Highly recommend happy hour experience as reasonably priced and great quality

Family and I (3 of us) went tonight for our first time. Alan was a great waiter. Super polite, friendly, and very thoughtful. The food was above our expectations. I love coming here. It has the most fantastic atmosphere with perfect lighting, and an atmosphere that is completely desirable. Picking choices of sushi on the menu is often too difficult because everything I have tried is beyond fantastic! The cocktail menu and bar are stocked quite impressively, and the staff is absolutely fantastic to talk to and work with.

A great experience after getting seated. Prompt, attentive service from our waiter who made sure he was available for all our questions. Drinks were served quickly. Our chef arrived moments later and went into the expected Hibachi steak house routine. Our chef was well schooled in the routine but needed to add just a couple more decibels to be fully heard (or I'm just getting old and hard of hearing). The jetted saki was an unexpected touch.The restaurant area is clean, spacious and well laid out. Furnishings are in good condition and, unlike some other restaurants, obviously not dated. The restrooms need some attention as their cleanliness did not match with that of the restaurant.Overall it was a fun time and the food quality and value is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We sat at the Hibachi table and it was completely awesome!! Our waitress was Brianna and she was phenomenal and the Hibachi chef was amazing also!! The food is so yummy it's insane! The Salmon, Filet, Lobster, Steak, Chicken and Shrimp is ALL AMAZING!! The clear soup and salad you get tastes so good and you wouldn't think by just looking at some broth it would be so flavorful and tasty but it is and the dressing they use for the salad is sooo good and I'm very picky with my sauces and salad dressings but theirs is so good!! Very yummy food, great staff and honestly decent prices for the quality and amount of food you get you can't beat it!! Seriously you HAVE to try this place!!! Very very yummy food, great atmosphere!!
